| Darryl
Purpose has led a diverse and interesting
life. Lured as a teenager to the world of
casino gambling, Purpose went from betting
dollars on the graveyard shifts in downtown
Las Vegas, to being one of the best blackjack
players in the world by his mid twenties.
In his late twenties, Purpose left Blackjack
to walk across the country (L.A. to DC) with
the ‘Great Peace March.’ |

A few years back I was playing in a small pub in central England and a guy came up and introduced himself. He said his name was Steve Tilston, and he used to be in a band called Fairport Convention. We exchanged CD's and stayed in touch via email. Then last year, he called and said they were putting together a box set of his music. 5 CD's in all, and one of those CD's would be other folks, each playing one of his songs. That CD was released this year - its called "Reaching Back". I do a song called "Sonnet". Steve is a great writer and singer and the Box Set is well worth checking out. ~Darryl
