April 23rd to June 24th, 2006

Los Angeles to Washington D.C.

2006 marked the 20th anniversary of the Great Peace March for Global Nuclear Disarmament - an eight and a half month peace walk from Los Angeles to Washington, D.C. To commemorate the event and to promote the release of Darryl Purpose's DVD and CD Live at Coalesce, the Coalesce Bike Tour commenced on April 23rd, 2006 in Santa Monica, CA and finished on June 24th, 2006 near Washington D.C. at a 20th anniversary reunion of the original event. Kevin Deame and others pedaled roughly along the original route of Click here to see more pictures of the tripthe peace walk, participating in presentations about the ride, music events, and interviews for the media. The main thrust of the trip was to promote peace and an end to the war in Iraq.

The project was not a fundraiser for any organization, but rather an educational tour and "a good way to get back in shape" according to the riders, although there will be several events to raise money for local peace and justice organizations. If you feel compelled to help out in some way, you can still contribute to one of the groups listed here.

www.darrylpurpose.com is proud to announce Darryl's CD, Live at Coalesce. Recorded before an audience in Morro Bay, California on March 7, 2005, this unique group of tunes is the perfect companion piece to the newly released DVD of the same name. Live at Coalesce includes some of Darryl's most beloved songs, Mr Schwinn and Singer Songwriter Heaven, and brand new songs, such as The Ghost Of Crazy Horse and We Become The Stories That We Tell.
